Job Details

The Contract Inspector II working for Infrastructure Maintenance in the summer and Infrastructure Operations in the winter and spring is part of a team responsible for the coordination and inspection of contracted work for, but not limited to, the following: snow and ice control and sweeping of public sidewalks, civic facility walkways, and civic facility parking lots, street sweeping, concrete sidewalk elevation, removal and replacement of brick and paving stones, crack sealing, mastic repairs, micro surfacing, and curb ramp construction. Inspection staff will monitor contractors to ensure adherence to the various specifications for each individual contract and that work goals and priorities are met through consistent and documented inspection processes. The Inspector II reports directly to the Contracts Roadway Maintenance Supervisor and supervises Inspector Is that are actively in the field with contractors completing the work. 

What will you do?

  • Provide status/performance updates of contracted work to the Contracts Roadways Maintenance Supervisor
  • Supervision and management of Contract Inspector I’s designated programs and deliverables
  • Provide subject matter expertise/guidance to Inspector I’s to ensure work complies with established contract specification parameters and that the work falls within the scope of the project
  • Prepare/review daily reports of program progress and to verify payment quantities
  • Oversee and coordinate any required hired equipment and CoE manpower to assist contracted work where necessary to meet program requirements
  • Conduct quality control field inspections of Inspector I’s and contractors
  • Identify errors in Inspector I’s data entry and assist in making necessary corrections
  • Identify/address site concerns that may impact required work and provide direction to Inspector I’s, relay these concerns to the Contracts Roadways Maintenance Supervisor
  • Respond, update, and provide consistent messaging for notifications including escalations through 311 and POSSE
  • Schedule and coordinate work with contractors to avoid conflicts with other projects or events

 

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED 
  • 5 years related to roadway maintenance and operational activities
  • Proficiency in City systems such as SAP, SLIM, and Google Suites is required

Assets: 

  • Inspection and/or crew supervision would be considered an asset

Skills required for success:

  • Advanced knowledge of city policies related to maintenance and operations including, but not limited to, OH&S, City Design and Construction Standards, Snow & Ice Control, Enviso, etc.
  • Ability to collect, enter, and maintain accurate records of work completed, as well as the ability to perform routine mathematical calculations without error
  • Good time management and multitasking skills to be able to manage and coordinate contractors and Inspector I’s across multiple projects at the same time
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in order to address and speak to concerns related to contractor supervision, 311 complaints, and external communications

The Desktop Analyst would be responsible for providing on-site technical support and maintaining the end-user computing environment within the organization. This includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, and upgrading all end-user devices and equipment to ensure optimal workstation performance. The person will also troubleshoot problem issues in person, by remote tools, by telephone, or via chat in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end-user assistance where required. 

The successful candidate will exercise a strong level of technical and customer service skills to perform the following duties:

  • Install, configure, move, and maintain Windows-based workstations and related hardware.
  • As part of the yearly lifecycle program, perform hardware upgrades and maintenance as needed.
  • Receive and respond to incoming calls, service desk tickets, email, or chat regarding equipment incidents.
  • Collaborate with team members to manage and troubleshoot Microsoft M365 applications, including Microsoft Office, Exchange, SharePoint, and Teams.
  • Record, track, and document the service desk incident-solving process, including all successful and unsuccessful decisions made and actions taken, through to final resolution.
  • Ensure the security and compliance of all computer systems within the organization.
  • Research solutions through internal and external knowledgebase as needed.
  • Collaborate with higher Tier level support analysts to ensure efficient operation of the organizations’ end-user computing environment.
  • Participate in IT projects as required.
  • Liaise with third-party support and equipment vendors, as needed.
  • Contribute to technician knowledgebase by creating support documents as needed.
  • Participate in on-call rotation schedule to provide support outside of regular business hours

Qualifications

  • Completion of the twelfth (12th) school grade, or GED, supplemented b y a relevant computer certificate program from a recognized Community College or Technical Institute. Demonstrated experience providing excellent customer service skills are required.
  • CompTIA A+ certification.
  • ITIL certification is considered an asset.
  • Excellent technical knowledge of Microsoft products including – Windows10/11, M365 Apps for Business, OneDrive, etc.
  • Strong ability to diagnose problems and perform repairs on end-user IT assets including desktops, laptops, Surfaces and Rugged mobile equipment.
  • Strong support experience with Mobile IT equipment in vehicles (Ex. Panasonic Toughbooks, Portable Printers, LTE Vehicle routers, LPR and Cameras)

Qualifications

Reporting to the Manager of Election Planning and Operations, the Administrative Coordinator will play an important  role in ensuring the smooth execution of administrative duties such as scheduling, coordinating facilities and resources, supporting project reporting, ballot tracking, and temporary staff recruitment.

You will:

  • Coordinate and optimize the Manager's schedule to align with team objectives, ensuring efficient operations and timely achievement of goals
  • Act as the primary liaison between the Manager and internal/external stakeholders, managing communication, monitoring emails for actionable items, and preparing necessary materials
  • Monitor and maintain project management tools to ensure they are consistently updated and accurate, thereby supporting effective project tracking and management

  • Assist in identifying, booking, and confirming facilities for election-related activities, including managing the flow of rental documents, approvals, and records to ensure seamless facility arrangements

Qualifications

  • Completion of grade twelve (12) including business subjects related to word and information processing and training in computer applications
  • Minimum two (2) years experience working in an administrative capacity at the City, a large organization or municipality
