Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:

• Be able to install, troubleshoot, and repair complex production equipment with minimum supervision
• Enhance equipment performance, recommending improvements and implementing.
• Works from drawings, written or verbal instructions and sketches
• Be able to troubleshoot and identify mechanical/electrical problems
• Participate in preventative maintenance
• Program and repair industrial equipment and automation including PLC’s, HMI and other related devices 
• Operate production equipment and check performance as required
• Be strong on PM (preventative maintenance) procedures in a 24 hour/day operation
• Have proficient knowledge in use of computerized maintenance management system.
• Ensure all job-related operations are in compliance with GMPs, HACCP, WHMIS and health & safety requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned

Now is a very exciting time to join the Maple Leaf family. Maple Leaf Foods is located in Hanover, ON. Currently, the Hanover Hatchery has the ability to hatch approximately 900,000 chicks per week. Our work includes everything from receiving eggs from our farms to distributing chicks to many growers across the province. 

Position Summary:

Maple Leaf Foods is looking for an experienced DZ driver with both automatic and standard transmission experience. The delivery driver is responsible for ensuring a timely and safe delivery of product to customer locations while providing professional service in a team-oriented environment. The delivery driver is also responsible for coordinating the unload with hands-on support in collaboration with a delivery helper. Come join our team to experience working in the exciting and rewarding Agricultural Industry!

SHIFT: Full-Time - Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday
Must be available on Wednesdays and Saturdays if needed.

Responsibilities Include:

• Safe transportation of product to customer locations
• Completing circle check, log books, and other regulatory requirements including truck maintenance
• Manual loading and unloading of product according to plant and customer specifications
• Collaborating with various teams throughout the day
• Provide direction and guidance to Delivery Helper to meet customer requirements
• Supporting training needs for new hires as an overall team
• Following all procedures (e.g. biosecurity, HACCP, CHEQ)
• Positive customer interactions

Required Qualifications:

• Must have valid minimum DZ license or equivalent with clean driver’s abstract
• Must have 3-5 years driving experience with a DZ license or equivalent
• Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices
• Must understand and follow all Animal Welfare/HACCP/Biosecurity procedures (Training will be provided)
• Willing and able to work flexible hours, including some Wednesdays and weekends as required (e.g. early starts and/or late end times)
• Proven communication and interpersonal skills
• Able to complete work without supervision
• Able to work in extreme weather hot or cold
• Must be in good physical condition – able to lift up to 50 lb. overhead repetitively
• Delivery experience an asset
• Familiarity with delivery routes an asset

What you will do

• Coordinate projects internally (submission/execution)

• Plan and monitor the progress of work (schedules)

The Inside Sales Representative is a vital member of our Inside Sales team. You have the privilege of building strong relationships with each customer and are the primary point of contact for establishing orders for delivery. You work closely with our Outside Sales team and the Warehouse team to ensure that deliveries are fulfilled and communicated correctly to everyone involved in the shipping process.

What you will do:

• Assume responsibility for order processing, which includes quoting prices within established margins, sourcing additional products and creating purchase orders.
• Enter quotes and orders into the system accurately and in a timely manner.
• Ensure accuracy in pricing, inventory and order information provided to customers.
• Establish and maintain relationships with new and existing customers via telephone or email with the goal of driving additional sales.
• Prepare quotes and process orders on behalf of outside sales staff.
• Work closely with outside sales representatives.

What you will bring:

• Inside sales experience in the heating industry preferred
• DEC in building mechanics or DEP in plumbing and heating (an asset)
• General computer skills, including Microsoft Office; knowledge of AS400 system an asset

• Develop an evolving knowledge of all supported applications, their interfaces, and technical environment

What you bring

Domain Expertise

• Requires Bachelor Science or Arts in a Computer Science, Engineering, Business or related discipline and 5+ years of experience in a related field.

• Strong practical experience with business analysis practices such as Data Analysis and Requirements Gathering.

• Strong knowledge and experience of Agile/Scrum and Product Ownership and DevOps practices (high level).

• Understanding of SAFe methodology.

• Strong practical experience with various development methodologies.

Reporting to Supervisor, Taxation Services, the Tax Accounting Analyst is responsible for ensuring transactions in the property tax system for the City are in compliance with legislation, policies and PSAB standards while ensuring efficient customer focused service delivery.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure the integrity of tax account data, resolve anomalies, and manage payment options
• Monitor tax payments, manage the property tax schedule, and oversee tax adjustment applications
• Ensure legislative compliance for tax rebates, reductions, and refunds, including Senior, Disabled, Charity, Heritage, and Tax Deferral programs
• Manage assessment base, including reviewing property sales, municipally owned properties, and assessment accuracy with M.P.A.C.
• Coordinate with financial institutions for mortgage tax program management, including interest additions and deletions, payment reconciliation, and compliance reporting
• Perform tax accounting analysis, including reconciliation of property tax subledger, daily transaction reviews, remittances, and providing recommendations to management
• Assist Tax Administration staff where necessary and other duties as assigned
• Support and demonstrate the City of Oshawa core values of Authenticity, Courage and Trust

Requirements:

• Demonstrated knowledge and skill normally associated with the completion of a three (3) year degree in Business Administration from a recognized community college and a minimum three (3) years of relevant property taxation experience in a municipal environment
• Completion of the Municipal Tax Administration Program (M.T.A.P.) certification is required
• LEAN certification is considered an asset
• Strong mathematical, analytical skills, investigative and research abilities with a high level of financial accounting skills and possess a sense of accuracy and thoroughness along with good organizational and administrative skills
• Established skills and experience using PC equipment and related software applications, (i.e. MS Office Suite, Knowledge of TXM tax software, PeopleSoft, Intelligenz software) and other information technology relating to municipal government taxation
• Excellent customer service experience and good communication skills, both oral and written, to deal effectively with the public, staff, other levels of government
• Demonstrated ability to work on own initiative and under pressure in order to meet rigid deadlines
