MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

 

•Bachelor Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering + 8 years of relevant experience in bridge design and project management

 

•Licensed Professional Engineer in Alberta (or eligible for registration)

Perform preventative and corrective maintenance of all systems associated with CPKC's Work Equipment group, including mechanical, electrical and hydraulic machinery/equipment.

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

CPKC is seeking certified Journeyman Carpenter, to perform a wide variety of journeyman duties

 

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Plan reading
  • Steel bridge repairs
  • Concrete forming
  • Pile driving
  • Framing bridge timbers
  • Shoring
  • Steelwork/reinforcing
  • Culvert installation/repair
  • Rigging/scaffolding
  • Roofing
  • Drywalling
  • Surveying
  • Concrete work
  • Cabinet construction
  • Material estimates
  • Interior/exterior finishing

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Possess a Journeyman Carpenter or have equivalent experience (six years’ experience in benchwork) and be willing to pass the CPKC Rail qualifying test
  • Hold a valid driver's license
  • Possess own set of hand tools
  • Certified to operate explosion activated tools
  • Obtain and hold a CROR rules card, minimum level "D"
  • Comfortable working on structures at heights with proper fall protection equipment
  • Proficient with the safe use of common hand and power tools
  • Ability to effectively complete all assigned duties unsupervised
