JOB SUMMARY
The Transit Fleet and Facilities Maintenance team provides safe, reliable, efficient, timely and cost-effective transit vehicle maintenance services to support federally regulated transit services within the City of Ottawa.
Reporting to a Garage Supervisor, you are responsible for performing a wide range of duties expected of a Truck and Coach Technician, including, but not limited to, the following: conducting diagnostic inspection of vehicles*, performing general mechanical overhaul and repair work , and performing daily maintenance repairs. Responsibilities
- Responsible for performing mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance on company fleet vehicles.

Qualifications

- Successful applicant will be required to have a Class 1 Driver’s license or be suitable for Class 1 training.
- Demonstrated mechanical and technical aptitude.
- May be required to supply automotive hand toole (not including heavy duty or diagnostic tools).

Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment in the field to keep in proper operating condition
- Maneuver equipment to perform all mechanical services on cold drink equipment including preventative maintenance
- Ensure vehicle has appropriate levels of parts inventory by practicing Kaizen initiatives; this includes ordering new supplies, performing bi-annual inventory audits, and keeping vehicle clean and organized
- Maintain positive customer relationships
- Prepare equipment in accordance with company standards
- Maintain clean and safe work area

Qualifications
- Refrigeration or HVAC trade or vocational certification preferred
- HVAC certification preferred
