Description:

How You’ll Help

Your Skills & Experience:
- Post-secondary training in truck repair and/or completion of truck technician certificate course
- Preference given to applicants with Red Seal journeyperson certification
- Additional training in tire repairs and/or refrigeration will be considered an asset
- Candidates enrolled in trailer repair apprenticeship may also be considered.
- Valid Class 1 license also considered an asset
- Previous work experience in an industrial environment, preferably in the transportation industry.
- Previous experience and qualification to perform Safety inspections is required in this position.
- Physically fit and able to lift, move, reach, bend, walk, stand, grasp, balance, climb, kneel and crouch for extended period of time
- Ability to work in tight spaces

This position performs general yard quality control. This position will be responsible for maintaining adequate egress in and around the yard. They will work directly with shifters and drivers in preparation of trailers for staging and dispatch to customer locations and general equipment flow. This position may include other work as directed.
Responsibilities:
- Prepares work zone with suitable equipment in accordance with current guidelines.
- Assists with organizing specified set-up.
- Checks the quantity and condition of delivery units.
- Fills out documentation or records and validates information on the appropriate media. ie. yard check
- Cleans work environment during or after operations.
- Reports any malfunctions to the supervisor.
- The position requires lifting up to 70lbs unassisted.
- Position will include the use of heavy machinery (power jack)
Available Shifts:
- Sunday-Thursday - 11am start. Shifts can be expected to be 3-5 hours* with a usual end time of 4 pm. // 1 Position available. Start time may vary.
