Job Summary

Duties & Responsibilities

Qualifications

Under the supervision of an Aquatic Program Specialist or Aquatic Training Specialist, this position performs responsible lifeguard and/or instructional duties at any City of Regina aquatic facilities. The work assigned involves ensuring the safety of patrons and proper facility usage. This position may be transferred between aquatics facilities and will be required to work non-standard hours.
Typical duties include:
- Ensures that proper safety procedures are followed an in cases of emergency, performs first aid, water rescues and other lifeguarding skills and techniques as required.
- Carries out responsible lifeguard and instructional duties and ensures a safe and healthy environment conducive to aquatic enjoyment and education.
- Participates in mandatory sessional staff training and development programs.
- Assumes responsibility for individual lesson plans, class attendance, class evaluations, progress cards, and test sheets as required.
- Enforces swimming pool rules and regulations as outlined by the City of Regina and the Saskatchewan Public Health Act.
- Assists in cleaning and disinfecting duties, as required.

Position Summary

About this opportunity:
Reporting to the Shift Coordinator, the Thermal Plant Operator will be a highly motivated individual who will focus on meeting facility KPIs, providing mentorship to all levels of staff, and building and maintaining both internal and external relationships. This role will be responsible for meeting all facility targets such as Safety, Production, Costs and Reliability and the safe and efficient operation of their facility, ensuring it meets all the standards and expectations of Cenovus's Organizational culture.

This position is located in Lloydminster and requires the successful candidate to live in the area

This is a full-time employee position working a shift rotation
What you’ll do:
-
Operate the Facility in a safe and effective manner, while working collaboratively as part of the operating team
-
Maintain and troubleshoot all area-specific equipment to optimize performance to meet production targets and reduce downtime
-
Perform condition monitoring including sampling and testing, and complete area operations records. (e.g. volume balances, log sheets, work permits and required reports)

Support operations performed maintenance activities and on-site maintenance contractors by communicating Company’s requirements, policies and procedures
Who you are:
Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:
-
Legally authorized to work in Canada
-
Minimum 4th Class Power Engineering Certificate
-
2 to 4 years experience in Oil and Gas Industry such as a Petrochemical Refinery, Upgrader or SAGD (experience in other industries like Pulp and Paper or Power Generation will be considered)
-
Experience in safe work permitting and hazard analysis
-
Understand processes and associated control systems including PLC (programmable logic control) and DCS (distributed control system)
-
Experience in equipment isolation in preparation for maintenance
-
Power Engineering/Technical School or Gas Process Operations (GPO)/Production Field Operations (PFO) levels I, II, III, & IV or A, B, C & D is an asset

As this position has been identified as safety sensitive, employment of a final candidate selected for this position will be conditional upon successful completion of required pre-employment medical and alcohol/drug assessments
For this position you will be required to maintain a Class 5 driver's license, a satisfactory driving record, and adhere to the appropriate Company policies and guidelines. A driver's abstract will be one of the background checks requested in the pre-employment screening for the final candidate
