Under supervision of the Manager, Customer Services, this position provides clerical support to the Planning and Development Department and oversees records maintenance of the Department’s Information and Records Management System.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assists in the implementation and maintenance of the Department’s Information and Records Management System.
  • Assists with evaluating solutions for improvements in the Department’s Records and Information Management procedures and processes.  
  • Assists with establishing goals and priorities, setting standards, and evaluating effectiveness of the operation to achieve greater efficacy of services to ensure the achievement of operational, administrative and legislative requirements.
  • Analyzes and identifies Department records to determine appropriate classification and retention.
  • Assists with administrative tasks related to requests for information under The Local Authority Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, including the management of confidential information and records pertaining to the requests.
  • Assists staff with training and use of the electronic records and information management software and other day to day records and information related matters.
  • Scans, edits and indexes all documentation. Maintains proper filing system of documents according to the corporate filing policy.
  • Types, formats and processes a variety of Department correspondence, manuals and reports, from written copy and electronic sources.
  • Participates in continuing records management education, e.g., Association of Records Managers and Administrators seminars.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education, Training and Experience Requirements

  • Grade 12 education.
  • Graduation from a recognized business college.
  • Typing speed of 55 w.p.m.
  • Three years' diversified and progressively responsible office experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Observes and reports activities and incidents at an assigned client site, providing for the security and safety of client property, assets, and personnel.
  • Operates an onsite utility vehicle to conduct extensive patrols to check for irregularities and to inspect protection devices and fire control equipment.
  • Preserves order and may act to enforce regulations and directives for the site pertaining to personnel, visitors, and premises.
  • Controls access to client site or facility through the admittance process.
  • Patrols assigned site on foot or in vehicle; checks for unsafe conditions, hazards, unlocked doors, security violations, blocked entrances and exits, mechanical problems, and unauthorized persons.
  • Satisfies client needs by providing excellent customer service while minimizing risk to the client property and assets.
  • Monitors intrusion detection systems using automated alarm and video monitoring software.
  • Uses computer systems and software to monitor sites and complete basic trainings.
  • Protects evidence or scene of incident in the event of accidents, emergencies, or security investigations.

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Valid provincial Security Guard Certificate or License (preferred)
  • Full class 5 driver’s license 
  • Able to work Saturday – Tuesday: 0600 - 2200
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 kg.
  • Working knowledge of security operations and procedures
  • Reliable means of transportation
  • Excellent organizational skills

Job Summary

Under supervision of the Supervisor X, this position maintains and repairs a variety of vehicles and equipment. 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Reviews work orders, carries out repairs and preventative maintenance on a variety of vehicles and equipment.
  • Inspects vehicles and equipment, including road tests where necessary, and tests various systems and components to determine specific problems.
  • Adjusts, repairs and replaces parts and components of vehicles and equipment using hand tools and other specialized equipment.
  • Tests and adjusts repaired systems to manufacturer's performance specifications.
  • Performs a variety of preventative maintenance and safety inspections, such as SGI inspections, to meet regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

Education, Experience and Training Requirements: 

  • Grade 12 education.
  • Possession of a valid provincial or inter-provincial Journeyperson designation in Automotive, Truck and Transport, or Heavy Duty mechanics. Possession of a recognized Apprenticeship Certificate is preferred.
  • Five years of Journeyperson experience with vehicles, large equipment and heavy-duty truck repairs.
  • Possession of a valid Saskatchewan Class 3A Driver's Licence.
  • Current driver’s abstract from SGI demonstrating a safe driving record.
  • Possession of WHMIS training certificate, training provided upon hire.
     

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

  • Considerable knowledge of the operation and use of current test equipment.
  • Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade.
  • Knowledge of electronic engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air/hydraulic brakes and other on-board vehicle systems.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, individually or as a team member.

Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Supervisor VI (various workgroups), this position assists in the operation of sewer cleaning equipment, water operations/inspections and water & sewer maintenance activities.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Inspects and cleans sewer mains, manholes, catch basins, outfalls, storm ponds and any other appurtenances on the sanitary and storm sewer systems, or otherwise, as required.
  • Operates and troubleshoots all water system components necessary to de-energize, re-energize, inspect and maintain hydrants.
  • Assists in performing a variety of manual labouring duties, including repairing water mains, sanitary and storm sewer mains, primary water mains and all appurtenances, such as hydrants, valves, manholes, catch basins and leads.
  • Assists with the operation of sewer flushing and/or vacuum equipment.
  • Operates pumps and miscellaneous equipment.
  • Installs road warning signs and barricades in accordance with approved standards.
  • Complies with current Occupational Health and Safety regulations, including confined space entry procedures.
  • Participates in on-going training, including operator certification training as directed.

Qualifications

Education, Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Grade 12 education or equivalent
  • Level 1 Level 1 Water Distribution and Level 1 Waste Water Collection Operator Certification from the Saskatchewan Operator Certification Board would be considered an asset
  • Complete approved Water Distribution and Wastewater Collection programs/courses within 6 months of hire.
  • Pass Level 1 Water Distribution and Level 1 Wastewater Collection Saskatchewan Operator Certification Exams within 12 months of hire.
  • Possession of a valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Driver's Licence.
  • Current driver’s abstract from SGI demonstrating a safe driving record.
  • Possession of a valid first aid certificate, training provided upon hire.
  • Successful completion of confined space, fall protection and H2S awareness training, training provided upon hire.
  • Successful completion of H2S awareness training, training provided upon hire. 
  • Successful completion of Trench Safety training, training provided upon hire
