The successful candidate will develop and execute strategic communications and marketing plans to support City programs and services. They will collaborate closely with departments and deploy targeted tactics to achieve business goals. From traditional to digital media, they will craft various materials such as news releases and social media content. With strong analytical skills, they will conduct research and problem-solving to meet tight deadlines.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver effective communications and marketing strategies.

Key Qualifications

• The knowledge, skills and abilities required are obtained through completion of a University Degree in Communications, Business Administration, Journalism, English (or similar program) or a two (2) year diploma in Public Relations, in addition to directly related work experience.
• Minimum of five (5) years' experience in a communications environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Working/Other Conditions

Under the direction of the Inventory Coordinator or Parts Management Technician, this position is responsible for all warehousing functions including shipping, receiving, and material handling in designated warehouse and storage areas.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Inspect incoming materials verifying shipment quantities and for quality assurance.
2. Ensure proper storage and organization of inventory.
3. Perform daily safety checks and operate general material handling equipment, including forklifts. 
4. Issues inventory in accordance with materials requisitions and material requests.
5. Promote and adhere to a safe working environment, organizes, and cleans warehouses and stores areas.
6. Complete inventory cycle counts and assists with/or resolves discrepancies as required.
7. Provide exceptional customer service to operations and support staff.
8. Arranges pickups and shipments of materials as required.
9. Records and arranges for the disposal of surplus material and equipment.
10. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 education.
• Working knowledge of computers, software, and related devices (i.e. SAP, Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel).
• Working knowledge of industrial maintenance, operations, and repair (MRO) products. (i.e. Safety, Janitorial, PPE, etc.).
• Ability to complete WHMIS, TDG, and Forklift Certification with 3 months of hire.
• Possession of a valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Drivers license.

This position performs supervisory functions related to the Customer Care Centre and monitors public inquiries on a daily basis.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Supervises the activities of the Customer Care Centre, including all aspects of addressing and tracking public inquiries within the Customer Relationship Management system.
• Supervises, schedules and trains assigned staff, and ensures duties are performed in accordance with City and Departmental policies and standards.  Assists with the recruitment process and performs disciplinary action, as required.
• Oversees the Service Saskatoon Care Centre knowledge base and maintains communication with internal stakeholders. 
• Reviews and recommends improvements to customer service and tracking programs within the Division.
• Resolves issues, within the section, regarding customer concerns or questions related to operational policies and practices, and is responsible for a customer tracking system.
• Assists with the development of operating procedures, manuals and directives for the section and monitors and ensures accuracy in responses to public inquiries and implementation of policies.
• Performs the duties of the Customer Care Centre Manager as required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a two-year, post-secondary program in a related field.
• Four to six years’ experience in customer service, including two years’ in a supervisory role.
• Possession of a valid, Class 5 Saskatchewan Driver’s Licence.
• Current driver’s abstract from SGI demonstrating a safe driving record.
• Ability to supervise and develop staff.
• Ability to analyze data, identify underlying issues/problems, and recommend required changes.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with assigned staff and the public.

Under supervision of the Superintendent, this position maintains and repairs a variety of vehicles and related equipment.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Reviews work orders, carries out repairs and preventative maintenance on a variety of vehicles and related equipment.
• Inspects vehicles and equipment, including road tests where necessary, and tests various systems and components to determine specific problems.
• Adjusts, repairs and replaces parts and components of vehicles and equipment using hand tools and other specialized equipment.
• Tests and adjusts repaired systems to manufacturer's performance specifications.
• Inspects civilian vehicles, as required, to assist Police with vehicle condition assessments.
• Measures the accuracy of Police vehicle speedometers, as required, and submits certificates to court as evidence. 
• Prepares Police vehicles for service, including items such as electrical and specialized light installations, design and fabrication of mounts, etc. 
• Completes required documentation such as inspection forms, service reports, etc.
• Supports and promotes the health and safety of employees and the general public in accordance with the Saskatchewan Employment Act, Saskatchewan Health Regulations and Standards, Occupational Health & Safety Regulations and the City of Saskatoon’s administrative Occupational Health & Safety policies and departmental procedures.  Maintains and monitors programs which affect public and employee health and safety.

Qualifications

Education, Training and Experience Requirements: 

• Grade 12 education.
• Possession of a valid Saskatchewan Journeyperson Automotive Service Technician Certificate.
• Five years' journeyperson experience.
• Possession of a valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Driver's Licence.

Under the supervision of the Facilities Superintendent, this working trades position oversees all aspects of the facilities maintenance program.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Coordinates, assigns and supervises the work of staff assigned to the maintenance program for facilities; supports management in regards to the work performance of staff.
• Assigns and tracks facility preventative maintenance and general maintenance requests using the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS, e.g.TMA etc.)
• Assists the Facilities Superintendent with developing work plans and budgeting for the maintenance program.
• Assists the Facilities Superintendent with defining and prioritizing maintenance work.
• Participates in weekly meetings with Facilities Superintendent to discuss weekly job planning and prioritization.
• Assists with the identification and development of standard operating practices.
• Supports and promotes a safe and positive workplace culture through a variety of initiatives and activities. Ensures a corporate approach to Occupational Health and Safety (OHS).
• Supports and promotes the health and safety of employees in accordance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act & Regulations in addition to the City of Saskatoon’s administrative Occupational Health & Safety policies and departmental procedures.
• Reviews and approves all time sheet entries (TSE) for trade staff.
• Acts as the Facilities Superintendent as required.

Qualifications

Education, Training and Experience Requirements

• Grade 12 Education.
• Possession of a Saskatchewan Journeyman Carpenter, Plumber or Electrical Certificate OR Fourth Class Power Engineering Certificate and a Refrigeration Plant Operator Certificate.
• The Saskatchewan Swimming Pool Operators Course would be considered an asset.
• Five years’ journeyperson or building operations experience plus two years' supervisory experience.
• Possession of or ability to obtain, a recognized Maintenance Management Professional Certificate within two years after the date of hire.
• Possession of or ability to obtain, a BOMI – FMA or RPA designation.
• Successful completion of the Occupational Health and Safety Practitioner course would be considered an asset.
• Possession of, or ability to obtain, valid, recognized first aid and CPR certificates.
