The Edmonton Police Service requires one (1) organized, detail-oriented, flexible individual to provide disclosure services to the Digital Media and Traffic Disclosure Unit of the Investigation Management and Approval Branch. Responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing and vetting digital media for initial disclosure to the Crown’s Office
- Receiving and processing Crown requests, including tasking members in NICHE UA
- Electronic/physical distribution and disclosure of audio/visual media files and charge reports to the Crown Prosecutor’s Office.
- Liaising with the EPS members, Crown Prosecutors Office, and Property & Exhibit Unit for Court related matters.
- Liaising with various units/sections to facilitate the provision of missing relevant investigative records.
- Reviewing disclosure packages disseminated to the Provincial, Federal, and Specialized Crowns.
- Evaluating charge reports and identifying issues regarding completeness and deadlines.
- Searching charges, courtrooms, accused and assigned prosecutors using a secure province-wide software system.
- Searching, editing, and updating various databases and spreadsheets.
- Tracking reports, documentation, and diary dates.
- Providing Criminal Record Checks for all Crown Prosecutors offices.
- Receiving and returning requests for subpoena cancellations for EPS members.
- Preparing and distributing EPS members Subpoenas and Police witness cancellations.
- Cross training with other clerk positions within the unit to ensure that the workflow is managed efficiently as required.
- Performing general office duties, including telephone inquiries, mail distribution and other related duties as required.
Qualifications
- Completion of the twelfth (12th) school grade including business subjects with an emphasis on word and information processing, or completion of an appropriate certificate program from an approved business school/college, supplemented by training in basic microcomputer applications.
- A minimum of two (2) years diversified word and information processing experience.
- Any further certificates, diplomas or degrees in an area related to policing, law or computer technology would be considered an asset.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal and time management skills.
- Proven technical ability working with various computer software programs and databases.
- Experience working with media technology, databases, and spreadsheets.
- Knowledge of the Criminal Code and court procedures would be an asset.
- Demonstrated self-initiative and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Experience with JOIN, NicheUA and Microsoft Access Database, Excel and Word are an asset
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritize a high-volume workload in a demanding fast paced environment.
- Mature individual with the ability to adapt to change and work in a multidisciplinary team setting.

As an Equipment Operator III during Summer months, you will:
- Operate a sweeper engaged in the sweeping of roadways and bike lanes
- May operate Loader, Grader, and other various types of Operator III equipment as required

- Safely operate the assigned equipment following the occupational hazards applicable to the work

- During periods when equipment operator work is not required, perform other duties which may include but are not limited to truck driving, litter control, etc.

As a Truck Driver III during Winter months, you will:
- Operate a tandem or single axle sand/plow while engaged in snow and ice control
- Load and unload materials
- Perform routine maintenance duties, such as cleaning the truck box and worksite, and performing routine maintenance of vehicles and equipment
- Be aware of obstacles adjacent to the road to avoid damage to Public Property when operating plow, including snow off the wing
- Inform the lead hand of any on-the-road issues with equipment or observed accident or property damage
- Complete simple paperwork and reports such as but not limited to: defect slips, time cards, manifest logs, safety and damage reports, spills
- General labour including brushing, manual sidewalk cleaning, sanding, snow shoveling, pothole repairs, manually spread sand on icy areas and other snow and ice-related duties
- Ensure all work is to be performed in accordance with the Branch's Occupational Health & Safety Program and Enviso - Environmental Management System (ISO 14001)

Qualifications
- Completion of Grade 10
- 2 years experience operating vehicles and equipment assigned to the position or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Must have 2 years experience operating sweeper
- Must have 1 year experience operating tandem or single axle sander/plow truck engaged in snow and ice control
- Must be COE trained and passed on both Sweeper and Plow/Sander
- City Grader and Loader training and passed considered to be an asset
- Valid Alberta Class 3 driver’s licence with Air Brakes Endorsement (or provincial equivalent). Obtaining and maintaining a City Driver's permit is a requirement of this position

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Previous mechanical experience and/or knowledge of rolling equipment preferred
- High school diploma or GED
- Commercial driver’s license ( Class 1A,3A ) preferred
- Must obtain / maintain commercial driver’s license to operate fuel/servicing truck
- Must be able to work any of three shifts including weekends and holidays
- Must be able to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions

The Edmonton Police Service is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the challenging position of a CPIC Unit Supervisor.
This position involves providing information to police officers and courts, as well as ensuring effective service delivery to internal and external clients with regards to CPIC requirements. The CPIC Unit requires one (1) individual to assume the following responsibilities:
- Ensure the CPIC Unit is aligned with the Branch and Division strategic priorities by developing and advancing the Unit’s goals and objectives, as set out by the leadership team.
- Supervise and coach/mentor all employees who work in the CPIC Unit to ensure quality customer service and all CPIC functions are maintained to National CPIC standards and performance metrics.
- Provide guidance to CPIC staff and trainees on the CPIC system and arrange for additional training to assist in continued employee development.
- Prepare and deliver employee performance reviews.
- Measure and report on the Unit’s performance measures and outcomes to the Branch’s leadership team.
- Lead and participate in the selection process for new employees.
- Perform other related duties, as required.
Qualifications
- Completion of the twelfth (12th) school grade.
- Completion of a certificate program from an approved business school/college would be considered an asset.
- A minimum of five (5) years progressively responsible and diversified office experience, including a minimum of two (2) years experience in the supervision of a moderate to large clerical support unit.
- A minimum two (2) years progressively responsible experience with CPIC system and CPIC compliance protocols is an asset.
- A minimum two (2) years experience with the administration of criminal justice/court records and use of police information systems, including provincial or municipal police information systems.
- Proven leadership ability, able to make sound decisions, use good judgment and identify priorities in a high-pressured environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication (oral and written), and teamwork skills.
- Experience in using Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Teams).

- As part of your pre-hire screening, you will be required to complete an Enhanced Security Clearance. Should you accept employment with the Edmonton Police Service you acknowledge and agree to participate in future Enhanced Security Re-Clearances at scheduled intervals or in any other circumstances, exigent or otherwise, as required by Human Resources Division.
Hours of Work:
Any 8 hours per day, between 0700 - 1700 hours, Monday to Friday.
Salary Range:
21B, Salary Grade: 017, $30.482 - $38.287 (Hourly), $2,438.60 - $3,063.00 (Bi-Weekly), $63,646.42 - $79,943.26 (Annually). The rates quoted are in accordance with a collective agreement between the Union and the City of Edmonton.
