Duties & Responsibilities

  • Cleans the interior and exterior of buildings and associated grounds and walkways, including cleaning and sanitation of pool decks, whirlpools and change rooms and pool vacuuming.
  • Assists with the relocation and installation of fixtures and equipment.
  • Secures and locks gates and doors of buildings and other City property.

Qualifications

Parking Operations Technician Full-time Job

Job Details

Under supervision of the Parking Services Manager, this position installs, inspects, maintains, repairs, replaces, and collects money from parking pay stations and provides services to deliver the temporary reserved parking program.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Performs collections from parking pay stations according to an established schedule.
  • Sorts and packages coins by denomination using mechanical sorting and packaging equipment. Trouble-shoots coin-handling equipment. Prepares bank deposit forms and records collection amounts. Tracks daily work and submits records.
  • Responds to daily customer complaints and equipment monitoring reports regarding parking pay station operation, takes action, and records findings.
  • Inspects and maintains parking stations.  Repairs or replaces faulty parts and installs, removes, and relocates existing parking pay stations. Orders and tracks inventory of parts, tools, and equipment. Monitors performance of pay stations and tracks actions taken. 
  • Installs new parking pay stations.
  • Provides services to deliver the temporary reserved parking program and maintains accurate records, as required.
  • Communicates closely with Parking Services Dispatch to deliver timely and responsive service for customers. 
  • Operates, and ensures the proper maintenance of, a City vehicle.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 education.
  • Two years' related experience in the repair and maintenance of small mechanisms including electronic parking pay stations. 
  • Electronic repair and maintenance training would be considered an asset.
  • Possession of a valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Driver's Licence.
  • Current driver’s abstract from SGI demonstrating a safe driving record.
  • Knowledge of the geographic area of the city where parking pay stations are located.
  • Knowledge of the tools, parts, mechanisms, methods and materials used in installing, servicing, repairing, and replacing parking stations.
  • Ability to diagnose common defects of electronic parking stations and to detect, by inspection, any worn, broken or improperly adjusted components and provide the necessary maintenance/repair as prescribed by the manufacturer.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Proven ability to provide excellent customer service 
  • Physical ability to perform the assigned duties, and to work outside in all weather conditions.

This position oversees the day to day operations of conventional Transit through the supervision of bus operators and various support staff to ensure that safe, efficient and dependable bus and charter service is provided to all Saskatoon Transit Services customers.

Duties & Responsibilities

1.    Supervises, schedules and trains staff.  Assists with recruitment and performs performance management processes.
2.    Participates in the investigation and analysis of workplace accidents/incidents, report findings and recommends corrective action that includes: identifying root-causes and assisting with the implementation of counter-measures.
3.    Represents Transit at public meetings, provides information sessions to schools and international students.
4.    Coordinates and participates in transit security programs.

Qualifications

1.    Oversees all activities at the recreation facility(ies) and provides administrative direction to ensure rental and program plans are delivered in accordance with the respective program strategies, schedules and safety standards.
2.    Designs, develops and implements programs and program/services evaluation tools utilizing developed procedures and processes in accordance with the Division’s Business Plan. 
3.    Assists with, the preparation and monitoring of the operating and capital budgets for the specified program site(s), including: identifying efficiencies, future operational/capital needs, and the preparation of forecasts and variance reports.
4.    Recruits, develops, supports, and supervises staff within the recreation facility(ies), through, training, performance management, succession planning and retention initiatives.
5.    Facilitates processes that engage the public to ensure programs and services address a wide range of user needs and expectations.
6.    Develops and promotes relationships within the Department and with other civic departments, external partners, volunteer groups, resident groups and businesses in the community to ensure effective facility utilization and operations.

10.    In collaboration with the Marketing Section and in consultation with various partners, develop and implement a marketing strategy to maximize participation and facility utilization.
11.    Develops, implements and evaluates policies, procedures, practices, priorities, and operating agreements, established for the effective utilization of facilities and program operation.
12.    Assists in the development, implementation and evaluation of division and section business plans; and coordinates, develops, implements, and evaluates short and long range work plans which relate to these business plans.
13.    Assists with the planning and coordination of facility maintenance and required shutdowns.
14.    Supports and promotes the health and safety of employees and the general public in accordance with the Saskatchewan Employment Act, Saskatchewan Health Regulations and Standards, Occupational Health & Safety Regulations and the City of Saskatoon’s administrative Occupational Health & Safety policies and departmental procedures.  Maintains and monitors programs which affect public health and safety and ensures a Respectful Workplace

Qualifications

•    A university degree in recreation administration, kinesiology, leisure studies, or related field, coupled with six years progressively responsible experience in a related area involving sport, culture, aquatic, recreation and fitness program development and delivery, administration and facility management/operation, including two (2) years of supervisory experience; 
or
•    A diploma in recreation administration, leisure studies, or related field, coupled with eight years progressive experience in a related area involving sport, culture, aquatic, recreation and fitness program development and delivery, administration and facility management/operation, including two (2) years of supervisory experience.
